The Avanade Intelligent Garden is relocating from RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2025 to Mayfield Park, combining reclaimed materials, urban planting and AI-powered tree monitoring technology.

A year after debuting at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2025, work has begun relocating the Avanade Intelligent Garden to Mayfield Park as part of the expansion of Mayfield Park.

Originally designed by Tom Massey and Studio Weave, the garden is being reimagined by Studio Egret West into a permanent green gateway linking Manchester city centre with Mayfield and Manchester Piccadilly Station.

The project will reuse elements from the original Chelsea garden alongside reclaimed Manchester cobbles, Yorkshire sandstone and repurposed street infrastructure. Public seating and new planting will help create a greener route into the city.

The relocated garden will also continue using AI-enabled tree monitoring technology developed with Avanade, allowing horticultural teams to monitor tree health and respond more quickly to signs of stress.

Project leaders say the scheme demonstrates how sustainability, reuse and technology can work together to create resilient urban green spaces while extending the legacy of a Chelsea show garden into everyday city life.
