Spacelift launches AI garden design platform at Chelsea
Spacelift will launch at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2026, introducing an AI-assisted platform designed to transform how homeowners plan, design and manage outdoor spaces.
The platform combines artificial intelligence, spatial mapping technology and the professional design methodology of landscape designer Matt Keightley, bringing expert-level garden design to a wider audience.
Spacelift enables users to digitally capture outdoor spaces with real-world accuracy before generating tailored garden concepts based on layout, lifestyle and environmental conditions.
The system produces structured, buildable plans including planting schemes, materials and spatial layouts, while also offering “shop-the-look” purchasing functionality and access to recommended local tradespeople.
Unlike purely visual AI tools, Spacelift has been developed using Matt Keightley’s established garden design principles, including spatial flow, planting composition and environmental response.
The company describes the platform as a shift from passive inspiration browsing towards practical, deliverable garden design that homeowners can confidently implement.
Future developments will include plant health tracking, maintenance guidance, biodiversity optimisation and sustainability tools such as carbon impact monitoring and native planting recommendations.
Spacelift says the platform is intended to support the garden industry rather than replace designers, helping create new opportunities for professionals, retailers and developers.
The launch at RHS Chelsea will feature three full-scale show gardens created using the platform: Calm in the Cotswolds, Urban Chic and Woodland Escape, each demonstrating different approaches to outdoor living and spatial design.
Visitors will be able to interact with the platform live during the show, following the process from digital space capture through to completed garden design.
To mark the launch, Spacelift is also offering visitors the opportunity to win a £50,000 garden transformation based on the Calm in the Cotswolds design.
