Silent No More Garden for Chelsea 2026

Award-winning designer Darren Hawkes has unveiled plans for a powerful new Show Garden at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2026, created for the Lady Garden Foundation.
The ‘Silent No More’ garden will appear on Main Avenue and is believed to be the first Chelsea Show Garden designed specifically for a gynaecological cancer charity.
The garden aims to break taboos around gynaecological cancers including ovarian, cervical, womb, vaginal and vulval cancers, which together claim 21 lives every day in the UK.
Hawkes’ design uses immersive planting and sculptural forms inspired by the female body, encouraging visitors to reflect, ask questions and start conversations that are often avoided.
Influences include artist Eduardo Chillida, whose abstract work inspired the garden’s layout, water features and architectural forms.
Four striking clay structures will form a central feature, creating a cocoon-like space symbolising protection and inviting interpretation and discussion.
Within the planting scheme, five sculptural artworks will represent each cancer type, alongside a flowing palette of soft and bold tones to reflect emotional progression and awareness.
The Lady Garden Foundation will also launch its “2,026 Voices” campaign alongside the garden, aiming to raise £1 million for research, education and awareness initiatives.
Campaign messaging focuses on increasing HPV vaccination uptake and cervical screening participation to improve early diagnosis and survival rates.
Founder Jenny Halpern Prince said the garden continues the charity’s mission to challenge silence and stigma around women’s health.
Parts of the garden will be relocated after the show, with elements donated to healthcare and community spaces, extending its legacy beyond RHS Chelsea.
