Lady Garden Foundation unveils Silent No More Garden at Chelsea
Darren Hawkes-designed space raises awareness of gynaecological cancers
The Lady Garden Foundation has unveiled its ‘Silent No More’ Show Garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2026, designed by RHS Gold Medal-winning designer Darren Hawkes, to highlight the urgent need for greater awareness of gynaecological cancers.
Co-founders Tamara Beckwith Veroni and Clare van Dam unveiled the large-scale Main Avenue garden alongside ambassadors and patient champions, including actress Alex Kingston, broadcaster Bobby Brazier, survivor Lauren Jolly and campaigner Penny Plane.
Designed as a striking and immersive installation, the garden represents a call to action around the five gynaecological cancers—ovarian, cervical, vulval, womb and vaginal—which claim 21 lives a day in the UK. Its sculptural clay forms and layered planting subtly reference the female body, creating a cocoon-like, reflective space intended to encourage open conversation and reduce stigma.
Visitors are guided through a series of symbolic elements, including five artist-created sculptures positioned along stone-lined paths, before entering a sunken sanctuary space featuring water rills and Mediterranean-inspired planting in soft, calming tones.
The foundation said the garden aims to bring these often-overlooked cancers into the national spotlight, encouraging earlier diagnosis and improved outcomes through increased public awareness.
Lady Garden Foundation confirmed the project has been made possible through support from private donors and corporate partners committed to improving women’s health outcomes.
