Role Description
As a Plant Area Assistant at Garden Plant Online, you will be part of a team ensuring our plants are well cared for and assisting customers in finding the right plants for their needs. You’ll use your vast knowledge for plants to help with day-to-day tasks, including caring for and maintaining plants, preparing orders and keeping the plant area healthy, tidy and inviting. You’ll also provide friendly and helpful customer service, making sure every customer has a positive experience with us.

Plant Care & Merchandising

• Maintain plants to the highest standard on a daily basis, ensuring they are healthy
• Keep plant displays looking appealing, tidy, and well organized
• Assist when unloading deliveries of stock, and monitor stock levels

Customer Service

• Offer expert advice to customers and provide a helpful, professional and approachable service, making customers feel welcomed
• Support customers with their orders and purchases including safely carrying and helping loading heavier items to their vehicles when needed

General & Administration

• Receive and check incoming deliveries
• You may also be asked to support other areas of the business as needed such as general duties and helping operations run smoothly.

Key Skills & Requirements

• Strong knowledge of plants and horticulture, including plant health and maintenance
• Degree, diploma or relevant qualification in Horticulture, Plant Science or a related subject preferred
• Genuine passion for plants and gardening with interest in developing your knowledge further
• Previous experience working within the horticulture industry preferrable
• Basic numeracy, IT skills, high attention to detail, merchandising, operational tasks and inventory management
• A full UK driving license. Access to your own vehicle preferred
• Must be physically capable of safely lifting and moving heavy items and carrying out manual work throughout the day.

Duration: This is a part-time role with possibility of full-time opportunity
