Gardenex Meet the Buyer Event facilitates major international partnership

Gardenex is excited to share a success story from its Meet the Buyer event at Glee, NEC Birmingham last September. Empathy, the UK’s top producer of biologically active gardening products and a Gardenex member, has secured a partnership with Aveve, a leading gardening brand in Belgium with 200 stores.
This collaboration, established just three months after their initial meeting at Glee, will see Aveve launch its own version of Empathy’s flagship product, rootgrow mycorrhizal fungi, tailored for the Flemish and French-speaking markets by the 2025 gardening season. Empathy's mycorrhizal fungi complies with the new EU fertiliser regulations, making it attractive for white-label partnerships across Europe.
This agreement follows Empathy’s recent collaboration with ADEO, one of Europe’s largest retail groups, which will offer branded mycorrhizal fungi products across 2,000 stores starting in 2025. Robert Patten, MD of Empathy, noted that the Gardenex team played a vital role in connecting them with international buyers, leading to meaningful business opportunities. Empathy is now looking for new white-label partnerships in Europe.
